You had me at Meow

Today I am playing with some fun playing with a new love of mine, Newton's Nook Designs. I made this sweet card using the new stamp set from them, Newton's Sweetheart. It is full of fun cats that are in love with sweet sentiments! This one is made for the Inky Paws Challenge #64. It is a fun bi-weekly challenged hosted by the team members of Newton's Nook.

This is my version of it:

Raccoon Friends

I am in love with these new raccoons from My Favorite Things. This set is called Ravin Raccoons and has several fun critters in it as well as sentiments. I colored this cute one with zig markers and a Wink of Stella glitter pen. I used the new Pretty in Pink sparkle blend from White Rose Crafts LLC. This mix is by Amber of Doodle Paper Playground and it is so fun and cute! I die cut the Friend from a My Favorite Things die. The hello is from Mama Elephant. I used wilted violet distress oxide ink and die cut the card using the Fancy Frame die set from Craftin Desert Divas. I used foam adhesive to make a shaker where I added the Pretty in Pink sequins and finished the card off with dots of Simply White Nuvo Drops.  This is also for The Daily Marker 30 day Color Challenge day #13. #thedailymarker30day

Bookmark..... yes, not a card!

Hello everyone! I am SUPER excited to share with you something that is NOT a card and also features an awesome new sequin mix that can be found at White Rose Crafts. This new mix is by Amber of Doodles Paper Playground and is called Cotton Candy. I love how fun this mix is and how it is perfect for my new Mini Happy Planner. Now I can find the day of the week I am on easily and have some pretties to look at as well! As for the stamps used on this the one in green is from Close to My Heart. The sentiment and moose are from the Believe in Yourself stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I heat embossed the sentiment in gold on vellum. I made the bookmark itself by using my fuse tool. There are so many videos on youtube on how to do this that I am sure if you search you will find one that will be right for you!

Quacky Birthday

Wow, I don't know about you but for me January is just flying by! I am sharing another fun birthday card using Birthday Surprise digital stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas. I love all the fun birthday critters in this set, and especially the Duck used here. A tip for making stamped animals come to life it to add some Ebony Nuvo Drops to the eyes. That makes for a more 3 dimensional look to your animals!  For the background I used Distress Oxide inks and the Party Time Stencil which I then die cut out with the Fancy Frame Die Set. I added a banner cut using the Party Time Border Dies. These dies make it very easy to jazz up a regular birthday card. The birds with the birthday banner are actually from the Clear Stamp set Sweetest Birthday also from the new January release at Craftin Desert Divas. I hope you enjoy this card and find some inspiration in it to help you create!

Foxy Birthday!

Hi everyone, stopping in for another birthday card that features the new Birthday Surprise digital stamp set. This time I chose the cupcake fox and colored him with my zig markers. I used the new Party Border dies for the balloons. I cut the balloon order twice, once from white cardstock that I inked with distress oxides for a sky/cloud look. Then I cut it from patterned paper, cut the balloons off and glued them to the white inked cardstock. I used the Happy die set to cut happy out of white cardstock for the shadow and the same patterned paper for the "happy".  I then die cut a tab from the Fancy Frame die set and stamped the birthday sentiment on it. I inked the card base and added an embossed piece of cardstock for the mat. Then I used some foam tape to pop the balloons and put on the finishing touches with some sequins. I hope you enjoy this fun little birthday card!

Happy Birthday... January Release!

Hello and Happy New 2018! I am so excited for what this year holds and all the craftiness it brings. I am starting the year off with a birthday card using the new digital stamp set, Birthday Surprise, from Craftin Desert Divas. I love these fun characters and I can't wait create more with them. I started by making my background using watercolor paints and some rock/table salt (I used both kinds). Here's what it looked like while drying.

When dried I brushed the salt off and die cut it using the Fancy Frame set. While it was drying I colored my stamped images with Zig Clean Color markers. I added some metallic gel pen details to them and clear nuvo drops for added dimension. I had the fun idea of adding some Sweet Pea sequins on top of the nuvo drops for some fun dimension on the balloons.

From there, I die cut some yellow patterned paper from CTMH. It is double sided and I cut the rectangle from the Inside Scalloped  Rectangle dies and then flipped it over and die cut the new Happy sentiment. I stamped the birthday sentiment from the Sending Sentiments stamp set. Lastly I die cut the banner using the new Party Borders die set from blue glitter cardstock. Once that was done I assembled the card. I am really happy with how it turned out and I hope you are too!

Here's to a Happy New Year filled with joy and creating!

January 2018 Mood Board Challenge

Happy New Year! I have been busy dealing with sickness, kids, and creating that I will be sharing with you soon. To get started, let's kick it off with the mood board challenge at Craftin Desert Divas. You can find the challenge by joining the facebook page: Craftin Desert Divas Gallery and looking under the events tab there. We have tried to make it easier for everyone to find. If you do play along with us PLEASE be sure to use the #CDDMonthly so we can find your projects :) This month we have some gorgeous inspiration to draw from.

I started my card by using the Winter Village digital stamp set. I set my scene up in Photoshop but you could use word or any other program that allows images. I sized everything and then printed. I also printed it on regular printer paper and fussy cut it out to use as a mask. I used zig two way glue so that it would hold but still come of when I was done inking the background. I used Distressed Oxide inks in the following colors: Cracked Pistachio, Twisted Citron, Iced Spruce, Lucky Clover, and Broken China. I colored it using my Zig realclean markers then I die cut it out using the Fancy Frames die cut set.  Here's the fun part, my 4 year old helped with the Skyfall sequins. I took a phone call and left the sequins and glue out and this is what I came back to. I fell in love with it so I kept it :) Sometimes accidents turn into happy mistakes. I finished it off with some Nuvo Glitter Accent. While I let that dry, I used some Nuvo Embossing Mousse in Aquamarine on the edges of the card base. I finally used some foam tape and attached the card front to base and this is how it turned out!! I am in love with it and wish you could see all the sparkle and shine it has in real life.
