Double Slider Card

Good morning! I have been seeing this style of card all over lately and wanted to make one myself. I looked on youtube and found lots of videos on how to do it so I just picked one and went with it and I am really happy with the results! I used the Freshly Squeezed digital set from Craftin Desert Divas and the font Lemonade Stand for the sentiment. I used my Shin Han Touch alcohol markers to color this adorable scene. The tab is die cut from the Fancy Frame Die.

Crafty Home Decor

So the past week I have been focusing on finally getting some home decor made and put up. I started with the Dollar Tree wreath, and then moved on to the fully handmade shadow boxes for our bedroom. Today I hung wired lights on an old farmhouse window for our accent wall. I also found an old board in the garage that will work perfectly for a shelf above the kitchen window that I have wanted ever since we moved in a year ago. I will paint and hang it tomorrow and will share pictures of that. The big project though is I found plans for ledge shelves and will be buying wood and making those very soon. I just have to remember how to use the skill saw and cut them. So here's to happy crafting and making a house a home :)

Western Fun

It is Rodeo time in Kansas right now with county fairs, big rodeos, and summer time fun! It was a lot of fun making these 2 cards with the Western Cowboy and Rodeo Girl digital stamps from Craftin Desert Divas. I started with printing the digital stamps on bristol smooth white cardstock and using my Tombow dual brush pens to color them in. I then die cut some panels and banners. I stamped the sentiments and added them. For the final touches I found some twine laying around that I wrapped and for the final touch added some sequins!

A change of pace

Today I was feeling a little less than inspired with paper so I switched gears. I have been doing some cleaning and have had the itch to dive into some summer projects for the house, just in time for the 105-110 degree weather...LOL That's how I roll normally.
While cleaning this weekend I came across my bag full of dollar store wreaths, foam, and some leftover ivy. I had plans last summer to make a wreath and never did. Today within an hour, I had this whipped up and hanging. Why did it take me soooo long to get this done???? Am I the only one else like that???
I started with a grapevine wreath from from the Dollar Tree. I had 2 sections of Dollar Tree ivy in the same bag, so I hot glued the end on and started wrapping. Yep, it was THAT easy...LOL

I then found some leftover burlap ribbon from graduation. I used that to make a bow to add to the wreath. I love using things I already have!!

I added the bow to the wreath with floral wire.

Finally, I added some burlap ribbon to it to hang it on the door with. I am really happy with my $4.00 wreath! Not too shabby for just using things laying around collecting dust. Not really sure what I was afraid of and why it took so long to do, but it's done now!!!

Freshly Squeezed Shaker

Good morning! I had a lot of fun making this shaker card featuring the Freshly Squeezed digital stamp set from Crafting Desert Divas. It is such a fun set to play with and has so many possibilities. I used Honeycomb sequins for my shaker. I printed off several lemons and lemon slices which I glued to the back of the card behind the sequins. I then created the scene in front and finished it off with Wink of Stella to add some sparkle to it. I hope you enjoy it and it brings some sunshine to your day :)
