A peek at a card set

Here's a quick sneak of a card set I am working on. This isn't for the faint of heart!! These have a bit if a learning curve and take time and patients but it's so worth it. They are turning out beautiful.

This week

This week there hasn't been much time to get much crafting done. Instead, I have been focusing on getting more of my craft boxes unpacked and organized which is proving to be a challenge. To make this task even more challenging try adding in a very high maintenance 2 year old that LOVES everything to do with crafts. I have gotten 3 big boxes unpacked this week and hope to actually dig into some ink pads, stamps, and cards tomorrow if all goes well. I have ordered the new Mini Misti and should get it this Friday. I am really excited about it. Check out the link to see what it is. I have dreams that this will speed up my stamping and creating time. We will see! So, for tonight that is it from this home. Happy crafting dreams, my friends.

Lesson #5 Window Frame

Lesson number 5 is perfect for my summer card. The example that was used in class was cupcakes and since I didn't have that stamp set I substituted that one I DID have. I have had this one for almost or over a year and hadn't touched it, like so many stamps that I have. I had fun creating this one although it took most of the morning do complete due to 3 kids. Have a cupcake of a day!

Shaker Card Lesson #6

Yes, I am doing some skipping around on my homework. This is lesson #6 and is the shaker card for the class I am taking at Altenew Academy with Nichol Magouirk. Shaker items were really popular when I started scrapbooking a long time ago. I actually taught some classes on how to make shaker cards...LOL I think that is why this homework assignment was so easy for me. I used Close to My Heart stamps, because that is what I have the most of, combined with ink pads and water pen to color with. I used dollar store sequins for the inside of the shaker. I really like how this one turned out!

Scene Card Lesson #1

I am currently taking a stamping class at Altanew Academy  to learn how to utilize my stamps in a better way. Lord knows I need it with all of them that I have! The teacher is Nichol Magouirk and she is wonderful. I am learning a lot of new things. I have finally used this stamp set, which I have had for at least 2 years. I am still not 100% happy with my alcohol markers but it is getting there and that's what it is all about!

Hopping into spring

Spring is on its way and with the way my crafting time has been, I decided I better get on it. I saw this idea years ago and always wanted to do it but never got to it. I saw the supplies at Dollar Tree and decided to just do it! Today the roofers were here so I had time to actually create this cute bunny wreath for $4.00. I still need to decorate him but at least he is put together (i don't like the ribbon nor is it long enough so it will be redone)!! The best part is the price!!

Grateful Blessings

The past few weeks have brought many sorrows for numerous neighbors and friends. 2016 doesn't seem to be starting off with the great expectations that they, or we, had anticipated. A young couple lost their first baby when born prematurely, another is fighting back from a stroke, another young premature baby is fighting for her life tonight. I bring this all up for the fact that I am truly blessed and grateful to have our family. Things have been frustrating me with not being able to unpack my crafting supplies and really get to crafting like I had imagined. Makayla is not cooperative in that and I have just about hit my last straw with her. Tonight I have stopped and reflected. She is a miracle baby. We fought through all the risks and a nasty emergency delivery to have her. She is the miracle that we never imagined could happen. She has required a lot more of my energy and time, as most toddlers do, but I have found myself having a hard time adjusting. After having over 8 years to do what I wanted with my day, it is a struggle to devote all my time again to a toddler. Add in 2 teenagers, one looking and taking college classes, another getting ready to enter high school and that leaves me reeling most days. Tonight I am trying to take time, relax, and truly be grateful for the stresses, challenges, and frustrations in my life because there are those that are fighting for life right now. My heart breaks for all of the struggles going on right now. With both babies, that could have been us but it wasn't. For that I am truly grateful. My prayers and thoughts go out to all the families that are struggling. I hope that peace will find them and that the fighting spirit is within those that need it. I encourage all of you to reflect and be grateful for what you have.

Crafting, Life, and Sickness

This week has been a very crazy one. I had plans to get some good ole fashioned crafting done, but as you can guess, it didn't happen. My husband had a knee scope, our oldest came down sick, and the youngest has more energy than jumping beans. Our middle child also finished up with his last junior high basketball season. On top of all of that, I have been fighting with my computer to keep it charged for the past month. Finally it totally quit, so it was in the shop for a few days getting fixed. Things are finally back on track but I am not sure I have the energy left to create this weekend. I am going to do some surfing and hopefully get inspired to finish out this weekend.

Project that makes my heart warm and fuzzy

I have had visions for our kitchen vent hood from the first time I saw it in the model home until now. Today I finally took some time to create the saying that I finally decided on. I could have bought it from a store or purchased the cut file, but instead, I used fonts that I already had and created my own word art to cut. I am really in love with the final product. It makes me heart truly warm and fuzzy to be putting some of my own touches on our home. There is so much more that I want to do but I have to wait until the final wall work is done. For now, I am happy to be able to put little touches here and there to help us feel TRULY at home. It feels SO good to finally have a home that we are happy in.

Bible Journaling

I am excited to be actually doing bible journaling this year. It was something that I wanted to do last year but never got to it. I am not one to jump on religious/faith trends but the creative side in me screams out for me to do this. It combines creativity with devotions and growing closer to God at the same time so it's a win win! There is tons of inspiration on pinterest and facebook to help get you started, but really it's about what works for you. It is a personal journal between you and God. This is the bible that I ordered after doing a lot of research. I hope that some of you will join me and we care share, inspire, and grow together in Christ this new year!!

Beautiful Girl

Yesterday I had the chance to go out and try my new camera. I can't say that I am 100% happy with the results but most of that is due to the lighting. It wasn't great but we had a lot of fun. I think she is beautiful, but hey, I might be a bit biased...LOL! It feels great to be shooting again and can't wait to keep playing. Here's a peek of a couple favorites from the day.

Hello 2016!!!

The air is crisp and clear to start off this new year here in the Wolff abode. 2015 brought a lot of changes for our family and along with that my crafting suffered a bit. Those changes brought the end to my time with Close to My Heart as a consultant. There is a bit of sadness with that but it was really for the best for me. We are moved and pretty much settled into our new home. I have my desk and some of my crafty supplies moved in to use. Plans are in the works for adding a crafting/office/guest cottage in sometime during the year where I will finally be able to full set up my crafting supplies and really get to work!! Until then, my little corner in the new home will have to work :) I encourage all of you to check in and like in my facebook page Scrappinsweetie's Escape to help keep up with my creations, tips, and ideas for you. Santa brought me a new SLR camera so I am getting back into photography FOR MYSELF again. I can't wait to take better pictures and even my oldest daughter's senior pictures, OH MY! I am also returning to digital scrapbooking for most of my scrapbook pages. I will still be creating paper mini albums and such with paper, but the bulk of my pages will be digital. Here is to a Happy New Year to you and yours from our little home here. (My perfect idea was to have a wonderful picture of my 3 kiddos sitting outside our new home but that didn't work so here is one from inside)
