Artbooking Made Easy: Everyday Layouts (S01E08)

Here is the first one of many to come!

I have been slowly working on this mini album cut from the Artbooking Cartridge. I was amazed at how quickly and easily it came together once I picked the theme, papers, and embellishments to get started on it. I am in love with how it turned out. Our daughter who is 14 took these for us. I think she did an amazing job, but I might be a little bit biased...LOL You really have to try this cartridge out for yourself. I can't explain to you how easy this makes it for mini albums and scrapbook layouts! I also have to give a shout out to a VERY special friend who helped me aquire the cartridge- Ladean Kolb. She is a wonderful friend and customer who knew I wanted it for the baby mini album and pages that it has on it. Thank you SO VERY much Ladean!

So there you have it, the first of many items to come from the artbooking cartridge!

Artbooking!!

Here is the first of the Artbooking cartridge projects to come. This looks pretty boring and plain right now but I promise it will look better once she is born and pictures are added. It also looks better when shown with the whole nursery (which is a mess but I will be posting pics later). The sock monkey is from the Sugar and Spice cartridge but everything else is from the Artbooking cartridge.

Fall is in the Air!

What a glorious morning it is with the crisp fall air and sunshine! The birds are chirping away and you can smell fall in the air. Today is Oct. 1, and that means a new stamp of the month! This month it is Scandinavian Wishes which makes very cute cards and home decor. It would also be a nice addition to your scrapbook pages. You can purchase this set for this month only either by paying full price ($17.95) or by purchasing $50.00 in other products and adding this in for only $5.00 more!! What a great deal!! You can find a link to the right to click on to take you directly to my store to purchase it. I am hoping to play with it today, but for now here is the main image to show you a sampling of what you can do with it.

Favorite Season

Fall is my favorite season even though it is a reflecting season for me. There are so many life things that have happened in the Fall that sometimes I wonder how it can still be my favorite season. I love the crisp air, the changing colors, the sunlight is different, and the yummy sweet smells of Halloween candy. Oh you can't forget the smores and camp fires to go along with it! I love wearing big snuggly clothes and cuddling up with my hubby and kiddos while enjoying the crisp evening air. Now I could go on to say that I love the football season as well, but that would be stretching it waaaaayyy to much because deep down I am NOT a football fan. I support my "big" (not allowed to call him little anymore since his little sister is on the way) when he is playing though. I do love the Cross Country season though and enjoy watching my daughter run very much. Those are my thoughts on my favorite season, please share with me what your favorite season is.

New Cards

I have been busy making cards for a custom order as well as for myself. I used several CTMH stamps for these although the paper is not CTMH. I wanted to show you how you can use CTMH stamps no matter what paper or medium you are using. I had a lot of fun and it felt great to finally craft a little bit.

National Scrapbooking Month!

Check out the Exclusive Stamp Set set available only during September. It is very very cute!

Stamp Cleaner

First I want to post a disclaimer: This is NOT my own recipe. I did not come up with this on my own, but it was passed to me by another scrapping friend so I am passing it along after trying it for myself and loving the results!

We all know that stamp cleaner can be expensive. There are alternatives, which I have tried, including a wet warm washcloth, baby wipes, and other items. These work well most of the time but I had an issue with pigment inks and the White Daisy ink and getting them to come off using the alternative cleaning methods, so I tried this after I ran out of CTMH stamp cleaner. I had excellent results and at a fraction of the price which means it allows more money for more stamps and paper!!! A win win for me. So I wanted to share the recipe with you so you can start saving some money and having great results too :)

Home made Stamp Cleaner:
1 cup Distilled Water
1 tsp. Baby Shampoo (I used dollar general no tears baby shampoo for even more savings)
2 TBSP Glycerin (this was the most expensive thing but will last for a LONG time. I got mine at the pharmacy and was $9.00 for a 6oz. bottle).

Mix all together and put into a small spray bottle of your choice and you are ready to clean. I spritz the stamps and then use the CTMH cleaner to scrub them off with. I hope you enjoy saving money and the results as much as I have!

Ruffled Scarves

Yes, I know it is only August, but the holiday season will be upon us soon! I have started early this year due to the request of some people and have started making the ruffled scarves that I made last year. This year I will be doing it differently and WILL NOT be taking orders for them. I will be putting them up for sale as I make them. Last year I had the issue of orders and running out of yarn and not being able to buy more due to supply and demand. You may ask me if I have a certain color and if I do I will make it for you, but I am not going to guarantee anything that I do not have in my hands at the time. They make a great gift and are perfect for the cooler temps coming up in the fall :) You might even be so inclined to treat yourself to one! They are $15.00 each and are apx. 76" long (2.12 yards). There are numerous ways to wear them as well!!

To order e-mail me at laura@gbta.net  Thanks for your support and keep watching for more colors!

A HUGE Thank You!

I wanted to take time today to say a HUGE thanks to all of you who bought stamps and ink pads. Some of you had privately e-mailed me about things that you wanted to see if they were still available and I appreciate that. It was a huge success and I will be doing another sale in the coming month(s) as I have to clean out more to make room for the new baby girl coming in just 12 weeks! I will also be including different sized scrapbook page and card kits for purchase as well as other handmade items for sale.

Today's the day!!

Today is the start of the sale. I have noticed that the stamps that I have put up are not showing but if you go to the archive and look you can click on each set there and the post will come up with a picture of the stamp set. Not sure if it is a glitch on my computer, or if everyone is having that problem so I am posting to tell you how to get to the stamps. You can also click on the sales catagory and find all the sale items there :) Happy shopping and please let me know if there are any questions. Also when paying by paypal I would appreciate it if you would use the gift option so that fees aren't taken out of the money you send me.

Update on stamps and goodies for sale!

After working and doing some research, I can't figure out how to easily set this up due to the quantity issue I have ran into. In order to make this simple and fair the only solution that I am able to come up with is the first person to post that they want the stamp and sends me paypal for it will be the one who gets the item. Most of the items I only have ONE of and if there is 2 of something I will specify that and the first 2 to post and "call" it and pays me will get it. I hope this does not cause drama or hurt feelings. I want this to be fair and simple for all of us. If you need to have your goodies mailed to you please add $5.60 to your order (PLEASE put your address in the notes section on paypal) and it will be mailed out in a Priority Flat Rate envelope or box. This is a great deal if you buy a lot because you will only be charged $5.60 for shipping once. So with all that being said, here's to a great and fun sale!!!!

Update

Wow, are you surprised that I am posting, to be honest so am I.....LOL Life has handed us quite a shake up and our little miracle will be born November 3. I have been sick and busy with so much that I haven't taken time, or the energy, to post to the blog much. I have been posting a bit on the facebook page, but want to get the blog going again. There are going to be some changes as I will be subbing at school, instead of going to school, until she is here so that should allow more time for me to post now that I am feeling up to it. I have so many ideas that I don't know where to start so be sure to check back and see what I have up my sleeve.

Mystery Hostess!!

Hello everyone! This month I am doing something new for anyone who is wanting to order. How would you like to get hostess rewards without doing much for them? Yep, this month I am hosting an online mystery hostess party. If you join the Mystery Hostess party at scrappinsweetiectmh.com and spend $25.00 or more and the party at the end is a total over $150.00 your name will be put in a hat and drawn to see who "wins" the hostess spot. The party HAS to make at least $150.00 to qualify and this month only if you make it to $250.00 for a party it bumps you up to the next hostess rewards level!!!! How awesome is that??? So be sure to join and place your order and encourage your friends to order too. This is a great month with the extra rewards.

Artiste Flower Box

Today I want to share a special gift that Cassandra made for her accompanist for her piccolo solo, which she received a 1 rating on. She picked out the project and papers and made this herself. I think she did a great job on both projects!
She used the new Chanitilly papers from CTMH and the Artiste cartridge. She cut the box part at 4.25 inches and the flowers were cut at 4.25 and 4.50 inches. She glued the box together and put 6 Hershey's Chocolate Nuggets in it. She inked the edges of the flowers and molded them to shape. She added them to the box for the finishing touch.

Exciting News! February Virtual Stamp Kit

I have some exciting news to announce today. The Virtual Stamp Kit is now Available to view. That's right, I got it done early! I am so excited to share this kit with you. I wanted to feature the Buzz and Bumble paper pack along with this set which includes the Honeycomb stamp set, but as I started creating, my mind started racing with other ideas with this stamp set that I had to share.

The kit will include the following:

* Instructions on how to make the 4 cards shown above, including the card bases and envelopes.

*It will include pre-cut shapes in case you do not have the Cricut cartridges needed to cut the shapes as well as stamped sentiments from stamps sets not included in this set.

*Cutting dimensions will be provided as well as a list of cartridges and stamp sets used for the sentiments. Making it easier for you to re-create these cards.

*A supply list will be provided when you pay me for this virtual stamp kit so that if you want to order more of the supplies used to make these cards on your own you may place your order when you sign up for the Stamp Kit.Or if you need the ink colors used in this class you can order those, too, as the ink is NOT provided, nor is the adhesive.

*You need to e-mail me scrappinsweetiectmh@gmail.com if you want this kit. I need to know if you want this kit by March 3rd. This is a short time because I will be having an Easter Virtual Club as well and Easter is early this year at the end of March. If you want to pre-order the Easter kit with this kit I will give you a $5.00 discount off of both kits which means you will get 2 kits for $45.00. The Easter kit will include a 3D project in it. If you only want the March Honeycomb kit the price is $25.00 which includes the size "C" Honeycomb stamp set. If you need the kit mailed, a $6 shipping fee will be added. This is different than some Virtual kits which you have to buy the stamp set separately. All of my Virtual Stamp Kits will include the stamp set that is featured.

* Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions that you may have. This is my first month of doing this so there may be a few kinks that needs to be worked out, but I have tried to cover all the bases and am happy to answer any questions that you have.

Fabulous You

Hello everyone! I am excited to be sharing here again. It's a new year and I have a lot planned for this little place including a new monthly club that I am still working out a few details on. Today I wanted to share with you a new card that I made from 2 of our new stamp sets.
Supplies:
D1477 Universal Backgrounds Flair
C1533 Fabulous You Seasons and Nature
Z2103 Bamboo Ink
Z2111 Chocolate Ink
Z1114 Piercing Kit
3505 Watercolor Pencils
1771 Waterbrush

I stamped the Fabulous You image on a colonial white scallop with bamboo ink. I then went over the bigger stems with a green watercolor pencil and blended it in with the waterbrush. I colored the bird and flowers in the same manner. I then used the piercing kit to pierce the paper. Chocolate ink was used to stamp the diamond and the friends forever sentiment and finally to finish the card base off I used bamboo and the script stamp for added depth. I wrapped the scallop with some fiber I had laying around and added a few pop dots to pop the scallop up off the card. I think it turned out very pretty. If you would like to create your own card like this all supplies can be ordered through my Scrappinsweetie's Escape CTMH site. Make sure it says that Laura Wolff is your consultant. I hope I have inspired you today!

A little bit of Love in the air!

Today I have been in the Valentine's mood after checking e-mails and blogs I was inspired to make this card. I think this little teddy bear cupid is so very cute and he made the perfect card for that special someone.
I used the Teddy Bear Parade cricut cartridge for the bear cut at 3". His wings were sprayed with Bronze Glimmer Mist for a bit of sparkle which isn't showing well in the picture. The red heart strip was made by stamping red cardstock with hearts border stamp from the Whoo's your Valentine stamp set using versamark ink. It was then cut and punched with the Martha Stewart punch (I don't know the name of it). The pink hearts were cut with the CTMH Artiste cartridge and stamped with the coordinating hearts from the Whoo's your Valentine set. The Love banner was cut by hand and stamped again with the Whoo's set. The inside was sponged with the blush ink from CTMH and stamped using the January Stamp of the Month set.
The stamp sets used are the Whoo's your Valentine which comes in the Whoo's your Valentine's special kit available only until January 31 with a qualified order. The other set is the January Stamp of the Month and can be bought with a qualified order again by January 31. These are both great stamp sets that can be used in many many ways. You can order by going to Scrappinsweetie's Store or e-mail me at scrappinsweetiectmh@gmail.com I would be happy to help you place your order. So here's to adding some love to the air!

Cascading Card for Workshop

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! As promised here is one of the first cards that I will be doing as a workshop. We will be creating one smaller candy tube project to complete this class but due to the time and all the techniques that you will be learning with this card I have decided to offer just these two projects for this class in effort to not overwhelm you and keep the class time manageable.
This card uses the Whoo's Your Valentine special stamp set available now until the end of January with a $35 dollar order for only $10 if you would like to have your own set which includes 12 treat tubes, 12 die cut boxes, 3 cardstock sheets, and the stamp set.You can find more information about this special set on my facebook page: Scrappinsweetie's Escape
I will be posting the date, time, and cost in the next few days so check back to book your spot in the class.
