Hi everyone, today is the day! The new stamp and digi stamps are in the store and ready to buy now!! There is tons of new fun waiting for you there. If you go to the New Release and hit new release the digi stamps are not there yet. So here is the link for the NEW JUNE DIGI STAMPS. You won't be disappointed! Here is a card featuring the Cactus Landscape digi.
Hi everyone, today I am sharing a fun card that fits the weather. It is for the Mood Board Challenge at Craftin Desert Divas. It features the Hippo Ice Cream and Summer Days digital stamps. I colored them using Shin Han Touch alcohol markers. I cut the sand with the Garden Border Die and the waves with the Outdoor Landscape Die. I used the flowers from Crazy Stitch Die. I cut the sentiment onto a banner and used pop dots. I finished the whole thing off with Morning Dew and Caribbean Ocean Nuvo Drops. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to join the challenge yourself for a chance to win some goodies!
Today's card is set in an evening desert sunset that makes this little cowboy miss back home. The Western Cowboy is a new digital stamp coming soon to Craftin Desert Divas. The scene is cut from black cardstock with the new Southwestern Border Die. It all comes together to make a sweet scene!
Today I have a fun new card that just screams summer fun. It was kind of an accident of how this one came about but I really like how it turned out. Take a peek and then keep reading to see how I created it.
I started out with a white card base that I used distress ink and a transparency to watercolor splatter. I then used the Fancy Frame Dies to die cut the base and yellow frames from Doodlebug Easter Express 6x6 paper pad. I liked how the colors showed off the Tutu Crabby digital stamp. I colored the stamp with my good ole Tombow Dual Brush Pens and added Wink of Stella for some shimmer. I then started layering the card together. The Flag Banner Dies were used on the fun polka dots paper. I decided that the bunny and crab needed to be framed so I used the Inside Scalloped Circle Dies to cut a scalloped circle. The flower at the top was cut with the flower and leaves from the Crazy Stitched Frame Dies which I added Nuvo Drops to the center. I finished the whole card off with Shimmer Sequins which are my favorite because they change color to really match whatever you put them on! And that's it. A fun and beachy card perfect for summertime!!
Hi everyone, I am SOOO excited about these new digital stamps that I wanted to share with you before I even have a chance to use them myself! The new Cool Treats and Freshly Squeezed digital stamps are PERFECT for your summer scrapbook, gifts, and card projects. They are soo much fun! Check them out below!
What a bright sunny day today looks to be. The wind is blowing again and the temps are rising. Today I have a fun card featuring the FREE digi when our June New Release Event gets 100 people going to it. You can find it HERE. This girl and flamingo are so cute you won't want to miss getting it! Please plan to attend and invite all of your crafty friends so you can enjoy! Who doesn't like free things?
To create this card I started with a cut out background and inked it with Picked Raspberry and Fossilized Amber Distress inks. I printed the girl/flamingo image and sentiment out on Strathmore Bristol White cardstock and used my Tombow Dual Brush Pens to color her. I added a thin purple mat around the image to pop it off the base. I used the Flag Banner Dies dies to cut the sentiment and used foam tape to add dimension.I added Nuvo Drops (Key Lime, Strawberry Coulis, Caribean Ocean )and Shimmer Sequins to finish it off. Thanks for checking it out and have a wonderful day!
I can't exactly give away a beach vacation or take one myself but I can create a fun beach card that will make us WANT to go to the beach...LOL This is the first post as an official Craftin Desert Divas Digital Design Team Member and I am very excited to share with you. I had a blast creating this refreshing beach scene. I laid all of the digital stamps that I used out in Photoshop and then went to work creating it. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I then used the June Mood Board Social Media Challenge to inspire my colors. I really encourage you to check this challenge out and play along. It is really easy and you may even win an awesome prize!! Even if you don't win a prize you will get your creative juices flowing and have fun, guaranteed! I printed the scene out and then used my Prismacolor pencils to color it in. Once done, I added some wink of stella for shimmer and shine and morning dew Nuvo drops (this colors dries clear and I like it better than glossy accents). While I let it all dry I prepared my card base by using the new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in Broken China. I inked the edges and then spritzed it with water to create the splattered effect. I used a corner rounder on the scene and added it to my card base to finish the card. I had a lot of fun with this one and it was relaxing to color. I hope you have a great day and create something fabulous!
So, it would appear that I have been quiet lately and maybe not crafting very much, but actually quite the opposite is true. I have been very busy behind the scenes but with projects that I may not share yet. I have some extremely exciting news that I can now announce. I am a part of the Digital Team at Craftin Desert Divas!! I found them in April and they are a company that have both clear and digital stamps, and they are adorable!BUT, they do not just have stamps, they also have other goodies for both scrapbookers and card makers!! Their sequins are amazing and so fun. I am so honored and blessed to be a part of this team and to create for these amazing designers. Thank you ladies for giving me a chance to represent your company.
I have had this printed and colored for a while and just never put it together. Today I had a bit of time and had received the new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide ink pad in Worn Lipstick in a monthly card kit that I get. I have been wanting to play with the oxides but didn't have any and am not spending any more money for a couple of months on crafting so I was VERY excited when I got my kit and found the ink pad. I LOVE this ink. It is so very smooth and goes on like a chalk ink. I can't wait to play with it more but for today here's what I put together.
Happy Memorial Day weekend! I took a bit of time today to print out this cute little cactus from Craftin Desert Divas. I colored it with my prismacolors and then used distress ink smooshing to create the background around it. I then die cut some accent pieces for the top and bottom. For the card base I had purchased some pre-printed cards a long time ago on sale and let's say that I have not used them much. A purchase I will not probably remake. It did, however, work wonderful for this card. Happy Crafting!
Today I played with another digital scene that I put together and printed out. This time I created a brick overlay stencil using a cricut cut image cutting it of stencil material that I bought from Wal-Mart. It worked beautifully! I used several colors of distress ink to add depth and interest to the background and floor. I used Neenah Solar White cardstock to print the scene on and cut out. I then colored it with Prismacolor pencils blended with gamsol. I am really much happier with the results this time!!
Good morning! Today it is a bit stormy, yet again. Yesterday I had a bit of time to myself so I created these 2 projects and I am really happy with them. The best thing about these 2 projects are that I used up bits and pieces of things I already had AND I got to use some new digital stamps that I have been waiting for time to play with.
First up is this cute shaker tag. I bought the templates from SVG cutting files- Peeker Shaker Tags and used that as the base. I loaded the files into Design Space where I placed the Craftin Desert Divas- Little Miss Flair on top of the tag front. I printed and cut it all out in one simple step. I love when a project comes together easily! I added foam tape to make the shaker part and used design space again to print onto a circle of acetate which I printed and cut out. I used distress ink to add the blue to the tag front and colored the stamp with Tombow Dual brush marker pens. I added some sparkle with wink of stella and a glitter gel pen. I will use the tag on a gift bag to give to the hostess of the 4th of July party we plan to attend.
This next card is one that I am really excited with how it turned out. I always get excited when I get to play with new crafty things and they actually work great the first time. I have had these distress crayons by Tim Holtz since, well I pre-ordered them if that tells you anything. This was the first time that I really played a lot with them. I swiped them across some water color paper and then used a Wet-Nap wipe (found at walmart in the paper plate aisle) which I found to be a bit dryer than a wet wipe to help smear the color out for this fun background effect. I then took some Pure Platinum Nuvo Embellishment mousse and added that with my finger to colors for a shimmer. I colored the Craftin Desert Diva- Unicorn with my Tombows again and added shimmer with the wink of stella marker. It was still missing something so I was digging around on my desk when I found this bag of graduation confetti left over from the party last weekend. There were stars and congrats grad confetti in it. BINGO- just what I needed to jazz this up!!! I die cut the watercolor panel with a die from My Favorite Things. This is the results of using up things just sitting around!
Both of these projects just sparkle in real life. That's one thing I wish is that the sparkle and shine showed up better in pictures! Anyway, Happy Tuesday and here's a challenge to get into your space and create something crafty today.
YAY! I actually got to color the scene I created the other night using #CraftinDesertDivas digital living room scene stamps. I am not 100% happy with how it turned out due to getting used to my new laser printer but overall I am satisfied. Just a few more kinks to work out. I love how versatile these stamps are. I used my Zig Millennium pen to add some details such as lines on the picture frame and lamp shade. I used my black colored pencil to add some texture to the chair. You can create at least 20 different scenes! The best part, they are extremely affordable. Here's a perfect card to send to someone you might be missing.
A couple of months ago I found this company that has really cute digital stamps. I was so excited and bought some. They worked great with color pencils but not great with my Tombows because the ink ran. Fast forward to graduation time. I love the look of foil on cards and want to make foiled thank you cards. Easiest way to do this is with a laser printer. So, after much talking, I convince hubby to let me get a black and white cheap laser printer. He took my color inkjet for his office. Score!!! Laser ink doesn't run with my Tombows and I can foil with it!! Now I can fully enjoy Craftin Desert Divas digital stamps and all of the other benefits of a laser printer.
I had a lot of fun making these cards for all the girls that we have graduating this year. I truly enjoyed making them and saying a prayer for each recipient as I worked. They ended up being some if my most favorite cards so far.

The past couple of weeks there have been a lot of friends in the hospital fighting some serious health issues. My intentions were good of making it there to visit them but my allergies decided that they loved me more. Fighting off, and loosing, the allergy battle kept me from visiting but I made cards anyway. This first one uses MFT Bold Blooms, their angle die, and Simon Says prayers die cut. I saw the original idea on pinterest but tweaked it a but to fit my needs. I am really happy with how it came out. It took me way to long, as usual anymore, but the results are very nice.
Man this past month has really flown by. I have been on my phone and not on my computer a lot because, well quite frankly I haven't been home much! I really need to figure out an easy way to post from my phone. Maybe I will tackle that this summer :) I have been doing a lot of coloring on the go but today I want to share a fun new stamp set that has captured my heart. This set is full of fun animals to pop into the hot air balloons along with fun sentiments. I have been playing with my tombow markers and the longer I play the more I am in love. Maybe I don't need those Zig Clean Colors.... Here is the stamp set and you can find it here: Up in the Air
Today I have done some coloring and a whole lot of playing Hi Ho Cherry-O, Yeti in my Spaghetti, and other fun toddler games. I also took a few minutes to have her help me create this fun card. I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire and her post today about the new Distress Oxide inks, which I want but don't have and won't be getting anytime soon. I dug out some new stamps that I have had for a while but not played with yet and got to work. I am REALLY happy with the results.

Donuts are the in thing right now if you haven't noticed. You can find new donut shops, rubber stamps of donuts, digital images, paper, they are EVERYWHERE! I have wanted to create a donut card for a while but I haven't bitten the bullet to actually buy a stamp set. I have it in my cart and then I talk myself out of it. Today, I am glad I challenged myself and glad I saved my money and haven't ordered one. I used my cricut and the subscription to not only cut the donut but write and cut the sentiment as well. That is a feature I don't use a lot of but love it everytime I do, so I am challenging myself to do that more often as well. Here's the card I created.
paper is from Close To My Heart Lollydoodle (retired line)
donut is from the Love You A Latte cricut cartridge
the font is a cricut font but I forgot to write down which one. I was written with an Ink Joy pen.
I added glossy accents on the sprinkles that were cut out and then used glitter gel pens in purple, blue, and yellow to add some colored sprinkles.
What an odd week it has been for me. I have colored everyday but haven't had the chance to post here. I worked a couple of days and that allowed me to color during down times. I have also been back to scrapping and have completed 2 pages. I hope to get some more card making and coloring done this weekend but tomorrow brings prom dress shopping with the oldest and one of her friends! I am REALLY looking forward to the girl's day out. Speaking of the oldest, these are pages done of her when she was a lot younger...LOL!
Today was a full day of scrapping, coloring, and celebrating our son's 15th birthday (actually tomorrow but we did a bit of celebrating today). I woke up early this morning and couldn't go back to sleep so I got up and finished a page I had started last night and started another one. Then I got blocked on it so I did my daily coloring and then back to the page tonight to finish it up. It was a great day! Here's what I have to share.
I am doing The Daily Marker Challenge from Kathy Racooson. I encourage each of you to go and check it out. It started on March 1, but you can jump in anytime. She encourages you to color something every day even if it is only for 5 minutes. It is HEALTHY for you! The reason I love this challenge so much is that you DON'T have to be a crafter. You can just grab a coloring book and color away. Nothing fancy required! If you want to try something fancier there are tons of videos and tutorials posted to encourage you and help you out. Yesterday there was a blog hop with some giveaways that is isn't too late to enter for so hurry over and join the fun.
I am a bit late in posting my first 2 days of the challenge so I am post them together here. This is my new go to for coloring. I use Tombow dual brush pen markers and Wink of stella brush marker to blend the colors out. You can also use a plastic surface, coloring some pen on it and then use the wink of stella to pick it up and color with. The trick to this technique is you HAVE to use strathmore bristol paper. If you do not use this paper you will not be able to blend the color out. When I first got my tombows I was extremely disappointed when I tried them. I was honestly almost in tears because I felt like I had wasted money. I decided to try this paper based on Jennifer McGuire's advice and now I am in LOVE. It truly does make a difference! So, here you go with my first 2 days. Jump in on the fun and get some coloring done!

I told you had I had been organizing and getting ready for some mega fun and this is IT! I now have all of my goodies I bought for Christmas, my birthday, Valentine's Day, and any other holiday in between. I am in LOVE with the Tombow Dual Brush Pen Markers paired with the Wink of Stella glitter brush. The shimmer is amazing and SO MUCH FUN!!! The major trick to using them is Bristol Smooth White cardstock which lets the marker just float on the surface making it easy to blend. I can't say enough about the stamps that are in this picture either. There are just too many to name, but the hours of fun are endless I guarantee you. I have had a bit of fun already with a few cards. I have many more planned and the ideas are still forming in my head!
I am so excited to be getting ready for Spring! I have done a lot of changing, updating, and just getting things organized and easy to create with when I have the time. One big change I am currently in the process of making is making it easier for all of you to find my work. I will be posting more here versus Facebook, as facebook has been changing how people see our posts. I have also created an e-mail that will make it easier to remember what my crafting name is "Scrappinsweetie's Escape". The e-mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org. This is the e-mail you can use to let me know if you wish to purchase a card set, have questions, or need help with something. I will also be stamping all of my cards with love by using my new Bossy Joscie handmade stamp!! I am REALLY excited about that as I have waited a LONG time for to get one.
I have gotten some new craft goodies that I have been having a blast using. You will see examples and posts soon on those so stay tuned!!
Today, after a week of barely crafting, I finally had time and felt like working on something. I was in need of a baby card and saw Lori Whitlock's new peek a boo cards so I bought one to use. It was sooo simple and I was able to get rid of some of my stash, a goal for 2017! It felt really good to produce a cute card with just stuff I had laying around.

First off, Happy 2017 to everyone. I haven't posted here in a while but I am going to try to be better about that this year. Facebook seems to be my favorite way to share but that doesn't work for everything so my goal is to be a better creator and blogger in the new year :)
I treated myself to a HUGE shopping spree using my Christmas and Birthday money. I splurged at Simon Says Stamp and My Favorite Things, and well you gotta spend at Amazon too. Today's card is a sketch challenge from My favorite Things and I used their set Snuggle Bunnies and their Rectangle Diagonal Stitch In and Out dies. It is really a special card for a special person who needs a cute pick me up right now!
