Stable Foundation

Hi everyone, I need to preface this post with this warning. The bow is NOT a good bow. There is one downfall I have and that is making bows. I do not have time to make another one today but wanted to go ahead and post this glass block as some people have been asking me about it. I love the saying and think it is very fitting. I will be redoing the bow, just not today. I have a toddler who seems to think getting into a LOT of things is on the list for the day. She is keeping me hopping for sure! Here is the block and I hope you like it as much as I do, minus the bow.

Thanksgiving Tray

I have a lot of these metal trays from the Dollar Tree leftover from a project I did for a craft fair last year that I ended up not attending due to an emergency, unplanned, c-section. I have been transforming them into faux chalkboards and plan to give some as gifts. This one I did for our buffet for Fall and Thanksgiving.

Dinosaur Glass Block Nightlight

I have been trying to work on some glass block designs for Christmas gifts, but I did this one for my nephew's birthday. I am told he is really into dinos so I hope he likes this! I created the scene in Cricut Design Space and then cut it out from vinyl. There are LOTS of layers on this block, but it wasn't too bad layering them together. I found that if you layer the images on a separate sheet and then transfer the whole layered image to the block it made making the scene much easier! I have the subscription so I just picked and chose what I wanted.
Supplies:
Cricut Images
Colored vinyl
Glass Block (I bought mine at Hobby Lobby 1/2 off on sale)
light for inside

Artfully Sent Project

Hi everyone, today's post brings a whole new level to the Artfully Sent cartridge. It isn't just for cards and scrapbooking, but you can use it for home decor as well!! I missed the blog hop for this project and that makes me really sad and mad at technology, but I wanted to share this with everyone anyway. I hope it inspires you to make your own faux chalkboard.

I started with this silver metal platter that I found at Dollar Tree:
Then I painted the inside oval part with this chalkboard paint I had sitting around for another project that still hasn't been done.
I let the dry and then painted the outside green edge with just acrylic paint from Walmart. I then used the Joy image from pg.49 of the Artfully Sent cartridge. I ungrouped the image and chose just the "joy" part, which I cut out of white vinyl (here's a cheat, I don't use white viny, I use white contact paper). I added some swirls to finish it off from the Artbooking cartridge pg. 60.  After than was applied I took 3 pieces of chalk and crushed them up, dipped a napkin in it and smeared it around to season the board. It was a lot of fun to do and I am working on some other ones for Christmas gifts.

Red Nativity

I know, it's been a while again. This life thing just gets in the way with 3 kids, a husband, and a part-time job!!! I used the steps posted the last time I posted to make this Christmas ornament using Artfully Sent. Speaking of, there will be a lot more postings from that cartridge very soon! Here's today's project I wanted to share with you. It is going in a set as a Christmas gift to someone very special!
